Police Arrest Cattle in Bwari Over Alleged Illegal Open Grazing
At about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, an eye reporter from BwariTimes observed officers of the Nigeria Police in Bwari leading a herd of cattle toward the police station along Kuduru road by the SCC road before Wike’s factory.
When approached for clarification, the officers said the cattle were being taken into custody over alleged illegal open grazing within the area.
Open grazing in residential communities poses several risks. Herds of cattle roaming freely can damage farms, gardens, roads, and other public property. They also leave animal waste on roads and in public spaces, creating environmental pollution and increasing the risk of diseases through contamination of the surroundings.
