Residents of Bwari Area Council have applauded the Executive Chairman, Joshua Ishaku, following the commencement of the construction of a major bridge linking the old road to the new road in Bwari.
The bridge project, which begins near the NNPC filling station in Bwari, is expected to improve connectivity between the two roads, reduce traffic congestion, and make movement safer for motorists, commercial drivers, pedestrians, and residents.
For years, many road users have experienced difficulties using the route, particularly during the rainy season. The new bridge is expected to provide a lasting solution and enhance transportation within the area.
The commencement of the project has generated positive reactions across the council, with many residents describing it as a bold step toward improving infrastructure and fulfilling campaign promises.
A trader in Bwari, Mrs. Janet Samuel, described the project as timely, saying, “This bridge is long overdue. We appreciate the chairman for responding to the needs of the people.”
Similarly, commercial driver Chris Daniel said the construction would ease movement and reduce delays experienced by motorists. “This is one of the projects that will have a direct impact on the daily lives of residents,” he noted.
Another resident, Shekwolo Peter, commended the council administration for prioritizing infrastructure, adding that continued investment in roads and bridges would stimulate economic activities in Bwari.
Residents have expressed optimism that the bridge will be completed within schedule and have urged the council to sustain the pace of development by extending similar projects to other communities across the Area Council.
The bridge construction is being viewed by many as one of the early infrastructure projects under Chairman Joshua Ishaku’s administration, reinforcing expectations for improved public infrastructure and better service delivery in Bwari Area Council.
