KUDURU, BWARI AREA COUNCIL
Residents of Fo2/Arab Road Kuduru have raised concerns over the growing accumulation of refuse dumped by Baba-mbola, which has reportedly turned part of the area into an illegal dumping site.
The refuse has continued to pile up along the roadside, with residents saying the situation is now obstructing the main road leading into the area and creating serious concerns about public hygiene, environmental safety and movement.
Residents are appealing to the Bwari Area Council and relevant waste-management authorities to urgently intervene and stop the indiscriminate dumping of refuse at the location.
According to residents, the Fo2 is not a designated refuse disposal site, and continued dumping in the area could worsen the environmental situation and create additional health and sanitation risks for people living and doing business around the community.
Bwari Council Intensifies Environmental Sanitation Efforts
The development comes as the Bwari Area Council administration under Chairman Joshua Ishaku Musa continues efforts to improve sanitation and tackle illegal refuse disposal across communities in the area.
The council had previously embarked on the clearing of illegal refuse points as part of wider environmental sanitation efforts, including the clearing of blocked drainages across Bwari.

The latest situation in Fo2 Kuduru, however, highlights the need for sustained enforcement and proper waste-disposal facilities to prevent cleared locations from becoming dumping grounds again.
Residents are also urged to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and to avoid dumping refuse on roads, drainages and other unauthorised locations.

Government efforts to improve waste management can only be effective when residents, waste handlers and relevant authorities work together.
Call for Urgent Intervention
Residents of the Fo2/Arab Road axis are therefore calling on the Bwari Area Council and relevant environmental authorities to inspect the location, clear the accumulated refuse and prevent further dumping at the site.
They also appealed for improved waste-collection arrangements and designated disposal points that residents can use safely and legally.
